When to Seek Help & Schedule an Assessment

Because the hand is so intricate, timing is everything. Waiting too long can lead to permanent stiffness or scar tissue buildup. Use the guide below to know when to book your appointment.

🛑 Urgent / Post-Surgery (Contact Us Immediately)

  • Recent Surgery: If you have just had surgery on your hand, wrist, or elbow, therapy often needs to begin within days to follow strict post-op protocols.

  • New Fractures or Dislocations: To get fitted for a custom protective splint immediately to ensure proper healing.

  • Tendon or Nerve Repairs: Where precise, early movement is required to prevent tissues from scarring together.

⚠ïļ Sub-Acute / Ongoing Issues (Book Within Weeks)

  • Persistent Swelling (Oedema): Your hand remains puffy weeks after an injury, making it hard to make a fist.

  • Active Scarring: Your scar is becoming thick, red, hard, or "stuck" to the tissue underneath, limiting your movement.

  • Stiffness & Weakness: You cannot fully straighten your fingers, close your hand, or you are losing your grip strength.

🔄 Chronic Conditions (Book Anytime)

  • Arthritis & Joint Changes: If pain or joint changes are making daily tasks like opening jars, typing, or writing difficult.

  • Persisting Pain: Chronic pain, tingling, or numbness that isn't resolving on its own.
